The 'Abierto Mexicano de Diseño' is a design festival that takes place every October in Mexico City's bustling downtown. For the 2016 edition we worked in collaboration with Lance Wyman to give Abierto's events greater visibility.
A custom typeface was used for the logotype and event titles to give Abierto a voice that could stand out among the visual noise of the public plazas and busy streets. This was combined with the festival's existing symbol.
The angled type is combined with colored parallelograms to create a festival feel and suggest a sense of space.

Taking the A from Abierto we developed icons for each category of event (Visual, Spatial, 3D, Virtual, Portable).
These elements were then translated into signage, printed materials, social media communications and merchandise.
